Karl Park is a foreign legal consultant with experience working in support of local attorneys at law firms in Asia since 1990. He focuses on the areas of mining and natural resources, environmental law, project finance and infrastructure development including investment and financing of power, railroad and port projects, construction law, foreign investment, insolvency and debt restructuring and a range of general corporate matters.
Karl joined the firm in 2006 following work at law firms in Seoul, Korea (over 7 years), Bangkok, Thailand (over 4 years), Jakarta, Indonesia (nearly 5 years) and the San Francisco Bay Area (3 years).
He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California, USA in 1985 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA in 1981. He also obtained a Certificate in Indonesian Business Law from the University of Indonesia, Faculty of Law in 2001.
Karl is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and is a native speaker of English. He also speaks Bahasa Indonesia at an intermediate level and speaks Korean and Thai at a basic level.
