Emir is a partner of MKK’s Jakarta office focusing on the areas of banking and finance, mining and project development, in particular in the private power sector.

Emir’s practice is wide ranging and focuses on highly complex projects from pre-tender to operation and often transfer to the Indonesian Government at the end of a concession period. He has been intimately involved in several of the groundbreaking energy projects in Indonesia including Paiton (the first private power project), Sarulla (one of the key geothermal projects), the transfer to a SOE of the Kaltim Pasifik Amoniak plant from the private sector following the end of its 25 year concession period and the Central Java 2,000MW PPP (the first PPP to reach financial close).
Emir joined the firm following his graduation from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University in 1983. He obtained his LL.M degree from the School of Law at the University of California (Berkeley) in 1986.
He is a member of the Association of Indonesian Legal Consultants and the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI).
